In 1994
Unesco included the town of Vicenza, with its historical centre and sixteen Palladian
villas on the of humanity's World Heritage. A just recognition for
a town rich in history and with one of the most important artistic heritages in Italy.
Some of these majestic monuments are very well-known all over the world : the Olympic Theatre,
the Palladian Basilica in the elegant "Piazza dei Signori", and the Rotonda Villa,
one of the most classic accomplishments of the great architect in Vicenza, his adopted city. But those
cited are simply the most famous architectural sities of a town rich in history, that rewards whoever
observes it attentively an image of rare beauty. |
