The Olympic Theatre Of Vicenza represents a majestic and most valuable symbol
of the Palladian architectonic art, and it is today the most ancient existing covered
theatre in the world. This,
together with its unique scene and artistic characteristics, makes it one of the most important
Italian and world-wide architectonic jewels. Inside the theatre the visitor cannot remain indifferent: all
around them it erges one of the greatest peaces of art of all times. In 1580 The Olympic Academy
of Vicenza, an aristocratic cultural club assigned Andrea Palladio to project a site for performances
and ceremonies. Andrea Palladio completed the project but could not carry out the construction
which was assigend to the Vicenza architect Vincenzo Scamozzi.
